maliha abidi

Maliha Abidi is a Pakistani-American artist and author based in London. Mainly working in painting, digital illustrations and installations. Born and raised in Pakistan, she migrated to the United States at the age of 14. Her experience of migration combined with a focus on gender, collective memory and experiences of being of South Asian descent result in her current art practice that spans over 12 years. Abidi's work has been exhibited in London, New York, Paris, Karachi and Miami.

Abidi is currently pursuing her MA in Contemporary Art Practice at the Royal College of Art.

Also the founder and creator of Women Rise NFT, Abidi started it as a Web 3.0 initiative with the focus on women’s rights and girls’ education through using art as a tool for advocacy.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, going on bicycle rides and explore new blends of coffee.
